Digital technologies are increasingly pervading all aspects of our lives. As they do, it becomes increasingly important for individuals to not only understand how they might utilise technologies effectively but also to be able to critically evaluate the digital content they encounter and understand the purposes for which it has been developed.
Combining theory and practical examples, this training package will help teachers gain a clear understanding of digital literacy skills and why they are important for today’s young people. Teachers will also see how others have put digital literacy into practice, before planning and implementing their own interventions to enhance digital literacy in school. The concepts and activities delivered through this training support the cross-curricular skill of using ICT.
The course duration is approximately 11-12 weeks with three face-to-face sessions.
