An Audience with Sir John Gillen
Sir John Gillen is a retired Lord Justice of Appeal who was responsible for the Gillen Report which aimed to make the legal procedures in serious sexual offences more equitable than is currently the case.
Join Sir John, Geraldine Hanna,CEO, Victim Support NI and a panel of Sixth Formers as we discuss how best to combat the prevalence of rape myths and how to debunk stereotypes which have no basis in fact.
Why is there such a low level of reporting of serious sexual offences? And how should we define the notion of consent in serious sexual offences to ensure fairness to both the accused and the complainant?
An Audience with Sir John Gillen takes place on 23 January at 6.30 pm in Stranmillis' Drama Theatre.
Facilitator: Peter Weil, MA (Cantab)
