During this course you learn about the Society of United Irishmen; their lives and times, the political climate, their rebellion, and the impact that they had and continue to have. Discussions about the origins of the movement, human rights concerns, particular issues that motivated rebellion and the connection to Revolutionary France. What was the state response to the movement and the Act of Union that followed the rebellion and the long shadows cast by that Act. How does society think of the Rebellion today?
